The secret story of how Cats changed the World
This remarkable book explores what you have always known but never quite understood – how it is that your favourite puss went from being your cat to your master.
A delightful and witty account, Purrfect Tales retells key events in mythology, legend and history to reveal the subtle influence of the velvet paw in every area of human endeavour.
The Purrfect Tales takes a provocative new look at well known myths, legends and historical events. The book comprises seven amusing tales that should amuse the entire family with retelling the story of the Garden of Eden, the tale of King Arthur’s sword, and the true muse behind Shakespeare’s greatest writing.
Purrfect Tales also has a scholarly introduction and conclusion for those of you who are interested in taking a deeper look into the new science of felinology (the study of cats’ role on human society) and each chapter has a brief discussion on the significance of the manuscript on world history and felinology. If you want to cut straight to the chase or are reading to youngsters, just open Purrfect Tales on Chapter 1 and skip the introduction. The tales should amuse young and old readers alike.
This is the purrfect gift for cat lovers.

About the authors
Mark and Peter Campbell grew up surrounded by a menagerie of animals which included turtles, lizards, frogs, a magpie and the obligatory dogs and cats. Purrfect Tales is based on their experiences watching how cats take command of the household subjugating all other animals to their will – largely through controlling their human masters.
Mark is a successful lawyer and spends his free time photographing wild animals. In search of great shots he has travelled around the world from the Savannahs of Africa, the jungles of Amazonia to the frozen glaciers of Alaska and Greenland. He has visited Europe but only unwillingly as the opportunities for wildlife photography are limited.
Peter is a translator, journalist and PR consultant. He enjoys fencing and sailing and does his best to live parallel lives in New Zealand and Europe.
